Meet the Role

As a Family Nurse Practitioner (APRN) at Healthy Connections, you will deliver primary care that focuses on prevention, wellness, and chronic disease management across the lifespan. You’ll diagnose, treat, educate, and advocate—bringing your full clinical skills and compassion to every patient encounter.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform patient assessments, including medical history reviews, dental and perio charting, and vital signs.

About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Primary Care/Family Practice Physician to join our team in Mena, Arkansas. This role involves delivering high-quality care to a diverse patient population, managing both acute and chronic conditions, and collaborating with a dedicated multidisciplinary team. This is a full-time position offering a four-day workweek and no on-call or weekend responsibilities, allowing you to enjoy work-life balance while making a significant impact on the community.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive patient care, including assessments, diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up.
  • Manage acute and chronic medical conditions across all age groups.
  • Educate patients and families on preventive care, wellness, and health maintenance.
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and patient-centered care.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate electronic health records in compliance with state and federal guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a residency program in Family Medicine or a related primary care specialty.
  • Active and unrestricted medical license in the State of Arkansas.
  • DEA certification.
  • Proficiency in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; ACLS certification within nine months of employment.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records and strong organizational skills.

How You’ll Contribute
As a Physician at Healthy Connections, you will provide comprehensive healthcare services, focusing on patients in need of HIV care and Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT). Your responsibilities will include conducting patient assessments, diagnosing and treating a variety of acute and chronic conditions, prescribing medications, and managing treatment plans. You will work closely with other healthcare providers, ensuring that all patients receive coordinated and holistic care. Additionally, you will educate patients and their families about their conditions, fostering a collaborative environment for better health outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including physical exams and history evaluations.
  • Diagnose and treat acute and chronic conditions using evidence-based practices.
  • Provide specialized care for patients with HIV and those requiring Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT).
  • Prescribe medications, therapies, and treatments tailored to each patient’s needs.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare team members to develop and monitor patient management plans.
  • Refer patients to specialists as needed and coordinate care to ensure comprehensive treatment.
  • Educate and counsel patients and families on health conditions and treatment options.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support systems like Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) and Meaningful Use (MU).

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited medical school with a Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree.
  • Completion of an approved residency program in a primary care specialty.
  • Licensed to practice medicine in the State of Arkansas.
  • DEA licensure.
  • Experience with HIV care and Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) is required.
  • Proficiency in Basic Life Support (BLS) techniques.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations in a community health setting.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and network systems.
  • CPR and ACLS training within 9 months of employment.
  • Ability to travel to all clinic locations and meetings as needed.
  • Fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or willingness to be vaccinated prior to employment.
